CENSUS
The 2020 Census marked the first time American households were invited to respond online, a groundbreaking innovation that increased accessibility while also necessitating stringent measures to secure and manage the collected data on an unprecedented scale. The program developed a robust architecture and engineering framework for cloud capabilities, infrastructure, cybersecurity and data centers migrating systems to safe and secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure environments utilizing technologies such as AWS CloudFormation, Splunk, Azure, Python, SolarWinds and Jenkins. Take2’s program team, including Cloud Engineers, Security Engineers, Systems Engineers, and DevOps specialists, played an important role in developing and implementing the enterprise cloud strategy that enabled the first-ever Census cloud migration, successfully transitioning to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our team was responsible for integrating over 50 IT systems and migrating them to a cloud environment before the Census was to be successfully started in March of 2020.
